Automated Garbage Container Information
Sandy Township requires all households in the Township to use a residential garbage collection service. The Township has contracted with Waste Management to manage the garbage and recycling collection within the Township. The contract runs from October 1, 2016 – September 30, 2026. Pricing and contract details can be found below. Waste Management also conducts a Clean-Up Day on the Second Monday of the Month from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM at the Sandy Township Municipal Building (1094 Chestnut Ave., DuBois, PA 15801). Sandy Township recognizes that some households within the Township are vacation homes. Advanced Disposal has worked with the Township to provide discounted rates for these vacation homes. These homes will only be charged for one quarter out of the year and receive trash disposal at a dumpster within Treasure Lake, bagged leaf pick-up twice per year, free paper shredding event once per year, and free electronics and large item disposal during the monthly Clean-Up Day.
Discounted Rates for Vacation Homes
Sandy Township recognizes that some households within the Township are vacation homes. Waste Management has worked with the Township to provide discounted rates for these vacation homes. These homes will only be charged for one quarter out of the year and receive bagged leaf pick-up twice per year, free paper shredding event once per year, and free electronics and large item disposal during the monthly Clean-Up Day. For trash disposal at Treasure Lake’s dumpster sites, please contact the TLPOA office at 814.371.0711.
